St. Jude MyChart Bedside Patient User Guide

If you are using the tablet, you must set up a code the first time you log in.

1. Tap the gear icon.
2. In the PIN section, tap the pencil icon to add or edit a PIN.
3. Enter a 4-digit code you can remember and tap Accept. You will use this code to access St. Jude MyChart Bedside each time.

On your mobile device

After you log in on a mobile device, you can see why you’re here, your arrival time, and expected discharge date at the top of the screen. Tap Learn more to see the issue your child is being treated for during your stay.

On the tablet

After you log in on a tablet, you can see your most recent vital signs (A), problem list (B), and medications (C), on the main screen. Tap the icon to learn more about an item on your problem or medications list.

In the Happening soon activity, view your schedule of upcoming events, such as medication administrations and imaging appointments. Tap an event to learn more about it. You can view Happening Soon on your mobile device or tablet.

Tablet only: Add an event to your schedule

Using the tablet, you can keep your care team aware of other events they need to work around. This might include a visit from a family member. You can easily add the event to your schedule.

1. Tap Add something new to my schedule.
2. Use the toggle at the top to indicate whether you'll be leaving your room for this event.
3. In the What's happening? field, enter a name for the event.
4. Specify the start and end time for the event.
5. Tap Add.

You and your care team can see the event you created under the Happening Soon heading for today and on today's timeline.

You can review education assigned to you by a member of your child’s care team. You can view assigned education on your mobile device or tablet.

You might see general information about a diagnosis, tips for managing a diagnosis on your own, or information about medicines prescribed for your child.

1. Go to the Education activity in St. Jude MyChart Bedside in MyChart Mobile or the To learn activity in the St. Jude Bedside tablet.
2. Tap the name of the lesson you'd like to learn about.
3. Tap a chapter in the Table of Contents.
4. Review the chapter.
5. If you do not have questions about the education material, tap I understand.
6. If you would like to speak more with your care team about a topic, tap I have questions. Your care team can see your responses and follow up with you.

Get to know more about your care team in the Taking Care of You section. Tap a care team member’s name to view a photo, their role, and biography.

Tablet only: Taking Care of Me

In the tablet application, learn more about your care team by looking at Taking Care of Me.

Specialists or other members of your care team can use video visits to check in with you virtually. You can attend video chats on your mobile device or tablet.

1. Tap the link in the text message your provider sends to your device.
2. Tap Join Call.
3. Attend the video visit with your provider.
4. Tap the exit icon to leave the call when you’re done.

On your mobile device

Make non-urgent requests, such as a snack or a warm blanket.

1. From the main screen of your mobile device, go to the During Your Stay section.
2. Tap Requests.
3. Tap the item or service you’d like to request.
4. Add any details staff need to know in the comment box and tap Submit request.

On the tablet

In the tablet application, you make requests through the activity called I would like…

1. Go to I would like….
2. Tap the item or service you want to request.
3. Add any details staff need to know in the comment box and tap Submit.

Order food from Kay Kafe using the Let’s Eat activity on your mobile device or tablet.

1. Go to the Let’s Eat activity.
2. Review the menu options.
3. Tap Add to tray and go to menu.
4. When you’ve added all your items, tap Submit tray.

On your mobile device

If your care team assigns you a questionnaire during your stay, the Questionnaires activity name appears in bold on your mobile device.

1. Go to the Questionnaires activity.
2. Answer the questions and tap Submit when you're ready.

On the tablet

In the tablet application, the activity is called A few questions… and a red notification that shows the number of questionnaires assigned appears when you have questionnaires to answer.

On your mobile device

If you have documents you need to sign, such as a consent form, the My Documents activity name appears in bold.

1. From the main screen, go to the During Your Stay section.
2. Tap My Documents.
3. For the document you need to sign, tap Review and sign.
4. Read the document and auto-generate a signature to sign it.

On the tablet

On the tablet, you can sign documents with an activity called Sign forms. If you have forms that need to be signed, a red circle notification will appear on the icon.

1. Tap Sign forms.
2. For the document you need to sign, tap Review and sign.
3. Read the document and auto-generate a signature to sign it.
4. Tap Accept.

On the tablet

Your doctor can share a note about your child’s care through the tablet.

To see these notes, go to the Notes activity and tap the sticky note icon you want to look at.

You can also add your own notes, like a to-do list or reminder. To do so, in the Notes activity:

1. Go to Notes.
2. Tap Add Text Note.
3. Type your text in the note.
4. Tap Save. 

On your mobile device

In Test Results, you can view up-to-date health information at a glance. When you have a new test result, a blue circle appears on the Test Result icon. Tap a lab result to see your test result values.

On the tablet

In My health on the tablet, you can view up-to-date health information at a glance. Tap a lab result or vital sign to see more detailed information and trends during your child’s hospital stay.
