The St. Jude Affiliate Clinic at Novant Health Hemby Children’s Hospital
The St. Jude Affiliate Clinic at Novant Health Hemby Children’s Hospital is located in Charlotte, North Carolina. This clinic is a joint effort of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Novant Health Hemby Children’s Hospital.
This St. Jude affiliate clinic brings expert care for children and adolescents with cancer and blood disorders in the Southeast. Through the Charlotte affiliate, patients may take part in St. Jude clinical trials.

“I was 9 months pregnant when Alex was diagnosed and had her little sister a few weeks later. Memphis is a 10-hour drive for us. Having the Charlotte affiliate so close meant that my mom and my husband’s mom could help us at home, and my husband could still work. We could have all hands on deck. That was huge for us. If we had been in Memphis, we would only have had our core family with us. Alex was also super excited to be able to take care of her baby sister. This happened during the pandemic. Since we were at home, Alex’s preschool teacher could come over and teach preschool on our back porch. Alex’s best friend lives next door. When Alex started wearing a head scarf after her hair fell out, her best friend started wearing a head scarf too. The Charlotte affiliate allowed us to draw on the expertise of the larger St. Jude while at the same time allowing my entire family to focus on Alex and support and love her as much as possible!”
