Jessica Gaevert aims to have a positive impact on others. She has a passion for science that includes bridging the gap between scientific research and public health.
Gaevert earned her bachelor’s degree in microbiology in 2018 from Colorado State University in Fort Collins. Her interests include immunology, infectious disease, and co-infection. She earned her master's degree from the St. Jude Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences in April 2020.
Gaevert currently works in the lab of Paul Thomas, PhD, Immunology, where she focuses on T cell repertoires and flu.
“One of the highlights of the St. Jude program,” she says, “is that the curriculum for first-year graduate students requires us to interact with patients and learn how our research can translate into treatment for a child who desperately needs it.”
