Alexandra Boyd, RN

Alexandra Boyd currently serves as a Clinical Research Associate II-RN in the Bone Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy Clinical Research Office at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She graduated from the University of Memphis Loewenberg College of Nursing in May 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in nursing.

In June of 2021, she underwent open heart surgery to address complications stemming from congenital heart disease. This experience provided her with a renewed outlook on life and underscored the significance of ongoing research and the contributions of those who have paved the way before her. Continuing her education will allow her to strengthen her foundation in research and contribute to the improvement of protocols and patient outcomes. She is dedicated to asking important questions, offering advanced perspectives, and leaving a lasting impact on the research community, as we work towards finding a cure for catastrophic diseases.

Boyd discovered her dedication to contributing to the treatment of recurrent aggressive diseases while working as a nurse in an adult clinic specializing in malignant hematology and stem cell transplant. Throughout her tenure, she witnessed patients fighting these aggressive cancers, as well as her grandfather. In remembrance of her patients and grandfather who sadly did not survive their battles, her primary research focus is on chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy to provide a cure for catastrophic diseases.
