The 2024 St. Jude Memphis Marathon Weekend®, presented by Juice Plus+® marked another major success in the event’s 23-year history, raising about $16 million for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®.
The event, which brought more than 22,500 athletes to Memphis in service of this year’s theme, “Together, we can do this,” is estimated to make a $54 million economic impact, benefiting the city’s tourism, hospitality and retail industries.
“While the St. Jude Memphis Marathon Weekend has grown in participant numbers and funds raised over the years, one thing has remained constant: our shared mission of finding cures and saving the lives of children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases,” said Richard C. Shadyac Jr., president and CEO of ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. “I am so inspired by the dedication and heart of all our participants, from the 1,876 patient family members who joined us on race day to the 4,000 St. Jude Heroes who support St. Jude kids year-round.”
