Machu Picchu

Peru | Sept. 1 – 10, 2024
Fundraising commitment: $12,000

The remote Secret Valleys of Salkantay Trek carries you up barren mountain valleys, over a 15,000-foot pass, and down undisturbed valleys all the way through the fabled Sun Gate of Machu Picchu. Finally, the prize after nearly 50 miles of trekking is the elusive Machu Picchu, where you enter from above and descend down through the clouds.

What is included in your experience?

Transportation to and from the airport, food, lodging, guides, porters and permits are included in your Embark Exploration Co. Adventure! Participants will be responsible for airline tickets to and from the destination, gear, individual trip insurance and required personal supplemental overseas medical insurance in addition to meeting their minimum fundraising goal. An initial $500 deposit will be required to complete your St. Jude Heroes registration. This deposit will be refunded upon meeting your minimum fundraising goal!

St. Jude cancer survivor Tom climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro — twice!

The first time Tom climbed Mountain Kilimanjaro, a guide told him, “This will be the hardest thing you have ever done in your life.” Tom had smiled. He’d done something harder.

Tom was just 2 when he was diagnosed with retinoblastoma, a rare cancer of the retina, and treated at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Every child deserves to live their best life. Help St. Jude give kids with cancer that chance.
