It all started when Alfredo had unexplained bruises on his body and a constant fever. His parents took him to a local doctor who called for bloodwork.
The results confirmed that Alfredo had leukemia.
He was referred to St. Jude, where doctors got to work right away to try and save his life.
“I was scared in the beginning because I didn’t know how it was going to be,” said Alfredo’s mom.
He is a shy boy with the most soulful eyes. When Alfredo was diagnosed with cancer, his parents were terrified by the thought of losing him, but they found hope at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Because of generous donors like you, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food.
Despite being shy, Alfredo has big dreams – he wants to be a police officer when he grows up.
