Members of Boston’s financial community came together April 6 for the seventh year in a row to support the lifesaving mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Nearly 300 guests attended the St. Jude Invest in Hope event at the State Room downtown with its majestic views of the city and harbor. This year’s event raised $138,000 to help St. Jude in the fight against childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
The evening included networking, cocktails and the opportunity to bid on premier auction items. A new feature, showcased for the first time at the event, was a “flash fundraising” concept that allowed guests to text donations from their phones and raised more than $10,000 in just a few minutes.
Since it began, St. Jude Invest in Hope in Boston has raised more than $1 million, helping to ensure that families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — because all a family should worry about it helping their child live.
Ramzi Nuwayhid, a member of the ALSAC/St. Jude Board of Directors and Governors, again served as co-chair of the event.
