The annual TomorrowNite Gala marked 25 years of support for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital by setting a fundraising record on March 5.
The gala raised more than $805,000, the largest fundraising total in its history. Since it began, the gala has raised more than $11 million for St. Jude.
About 550 guests attended the event at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Boston, Massachusetts, enjoying music by Soul Fuzion, as well as live and silent auctions. Frances Rivera from MSNBC and NBC News served as the event’s emcee.
St. Jude is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. The support of donors like those at the TomorrowNite Gala helps to ensure that families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
Anne Tamer Hajjar, who served as gala chair for the last 18 years, and Chuck Hajjar, a member of the ALSAC/St. Jude Boards of Directors and Governors, were honored at the event for their commitment to St. Jude. The Hajjars were also the presenting sponsors for the TomorrowNite Gala.
The event grew by more than 200 guests and $375,000 from the previous year, thanks to the support of the Hajjars, and the outreach effort of event chairs Joseph Ayoub Jr., Christa Ayoub, Paul Ayoub and Jane Ayoub. Paul Ayoub is the Chair of the ALSAC Board of Directors, and Joseph Ayoub is a member of the ALSAC/St. Jude Boards.
