Family Fun Day

Members of the Kids for Kids Foundation junior committee participate in the Kids for Kids Family Fun Day for St. Jude.

For the third consecutive year, the Kids for Kids Family Fun Day for St. Jude in New York raised more than $1 million — generating more than $6 million for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in just eight years.

Hosted by the Kids for Kids Foundation, the 8th annual event was held June 11 at the Aviator Sports and Events Center in Brooklyn, New York. More than 1,200 adults and children gathered to enjoy a carnival, barbecue lunch, kids’ activities, live entertainment, and to celebrate the lifesaving mission of St. Jude.

The Kids for Kids Foundation hosted several fundraising events for St. Jude throughout the year, including a golf outing, a bocce ball event and many other smaller events.

“We have been incredibly lucky to have such remarkable support from our committee, sponsors and volunteers,” said Robert Catalano, Founder of the Kids for Kids Foundation. “Bringing families together to support St. Jude is something we are all proud to continue to do.”

Support from events like the Family Fun Day helps ensure that families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.

Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent since the hospital opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90 percent, and we won’t stop until no child dies from cancer.

Sponsors for the event included: Total Fire Protection, Degmor, East Coast Energy Group, Enobrac Plumbing, Platinum Maintenance, Palladium Windows, Northeastern Bus Rebuilders, Starcruiser Transportation, Raineri Jewelers, M&S Mechanical and Gotham Lighting.
