The 23rd annual St. Jude Autumn Wine Tasting recently raised $505,000 for St. Jude, passing the $3 million mark in fundraising for the hospital.
The October 15 event brought 500 guests to Guastavino’s, a New York City event space, to enjoy a wine tasting from premier vineyards and wineries as well as hors d’oeuvres, a variety of restaurant samplings, and a silent auction. The law firm Block O’Toole & Murphy continued this year as title sponsor of the event.
“The foundation of the law firm Block O'Toole & Murphy has always been about helping the less fortunate. This event and the commitment of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is completely consistent with how we hope to comport ourselves in life,” said Stephen Murphy, event chair for the St. Jude Autumn Wine Tasting.
“There is a lot of hard work and a ton of hours involved in pulling this evening off every year," continued Murphy, "but it is more than worth it when you see the results. The results have exceeded all of our expectations. We are very grateful to be able to be a part of it every year.”
Serving with Murphy on the event committee were Jeffrey Block, Joseph Donahue, Dan O’Toole, David Scher and Julie Scher.
Other key event sponsors included: Wilson, Elser, Moskowitz, Edelman & Dicker LLP; Harvey Jasper; Bragoli & Associates; Creative Capital, Inc.; Duffy & Duffy Attorneys at Law; Kramer, Dillof, Livingston & Moore; Magnolia Legal Funding; and Restivo & Murphy LLP.
