The St. Jude Promesa y Esperanza® (Promise and Hope) is an initiative by St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Univision Radio, the leading radio network serving Hispanic America, to increase awareness of childhood cancer.
As part of this partnership, Univision Radio broadcasted special programming on February 10 and 11 asking listeners to become Ángeles de Esperanza (Angels of Hope) by making a donation of $20 per month, to find cures and save children.
St. Jude also hosted the largest Promesa y Esperanza radio seminar to date on January 24 and 25. More than 400 radio personalities, Latin music artists, representatives from Spanish-language TV stations and many celebrity guests and volunteers involved with Hispanic outreach efforts across the U.S. gathered in Memphis to visit the hospital and exchange ideas.
“We cannot say thank you enough to Univision Radio and its loyal listeners for supporting the fight against childhood cancer. Their donations make our mission possible,” said Richard Shadyac Jr., CEO of ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. “Univision Radio's dedication of its programming to share the St. Jude story during these two days reflects the commitment of the Hispanic community to helping St. Jude find cures and save children."
