With a concert headlined by rock ’n’ roll giants, the Scott Medlock-Robby Krieger Golf Invitational and All–Star Concert in Moorpark, California, raised more than $405,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

About 650 people attended the all–day event September 22, enjoying a golf tournament, the 19th Hole reception with food tastings from various local restaurants, and a star–studded concert. Performances by such rock icons as event host Krieger of The Doors, Alice Cooper, Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson, KISS guitarist Tommy Thayer, Chicago drummer Danny Seraphine and rock vocalist Sebastian Bach kept audience members on their feet.

“It’s special to help these kids,” Medlock said. “Robby and I are so passionate about them and helping carry on what St. Jude founder Danny Thomas started.” Other musicians performing in the concert included Chinese–Jamaican bassist Phil Chen, singer–songwriter Dave Brock, comedian and country musician Gary Mule Deer and Brett Scallions, lead vocalist for the bands World Fire Brigade and Fuel.

“Being fortunate enough to do something to help kids is an awesome feeling,” Medlock added. “It’s great to get friends together and raise money and have a great time.”

Major sponsors for the day of golf and music included Microsemi, Mercedes-Benz of Long Beach, Waste Management and Monster Energy.
