Memphis, Tennessee (May 15, 2013) – John Rich will perform alongside his friends Wynonna, Larry the Cable Guy and Big Kenny, Rich’s partner in Big & Rich, and special guest Lisa Rinna at the St. Jude Presents John Rich & Friends entertainment event on June 4 at the Cannon Center for the Performing Arts in Memphis, Tennessee. The event will serve as the second annual concert tee off for the 2013 FedEx St. Jude Classic. Proceeds from the concert, as well as the FedEx St. Jude Classic, make it possible for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to provide exceptional care to children fighting cancer and other deadly diseases, all while ensuring that no family ever pays St. Jude for anything.
Tickets can be ordered through Ticketmaster, ranging from $40-$80 per person.
"From the first time I visited St. Jude years ago, I knew that it was a place I belonged,” said Wynonna. “As a mother, I look into the eyes of every child and I realize that they could easily be one of my children. As an artist, I ask myself, "What can I do to bring a blessing to these wounded and hurting families?"
For the second consecutive year, Window World® is the presenting sponsor for this event.
“We are thankful to John Rich for his continued support of our lifesaving work and to have such a talented group of supporters joining him for this special event,” said Richard Shadyac Jr., CEO of ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. “This event is just one of many St. Jude moments that will take place during a week of great golf, all of which help St. Jude continue its mission of finding cures and saving children.”
"One of the greatest honors of my life's work is to help the kids at St Jude. To bring music to their lives and use music to raise funds for their care is something bigger than a hit song or a sold out concert,” said Rich. “I'm very appreciative to my friends Big Kenny, Wynonna, Larry the Cable Guy and Lisa Rinna for participating this year in our special event! This will be a great celebration 'For The Kids'!"
"I'm so excited to be a part of John Rich's event,” said Larry the Cable Guy. “We'll have fun and Git-R-Done for St. Jude!"
The FedEx St. Jude Classic has raised more than $26 million for the kids of St. Jude. In addition to the concert, other special events include the Danny Thomas Pro-Am, Window World Pro-Am, Michelob Ultra Party Tent, a fun-filled Kids Zone and a Saturday night concert “after party.” Those who purchase tickets to the concert and tournament will enjoy family-friendly entertainment and sporting events while helping St. Jude do everything it can to save the lives of children battling cancer and other deadly diseases.
Window World, America’s largest replacement window and home remodeling company, is the national presenting sponsor and plays an important role in the success of the St. Jude Presents John Rich & Friends event Window World Cares™, the charitable foundation of Window World, has raised more than $3 million in support of St. Jude and also hosts a holiday party each December for the patients and their families. ABOUT ST. JUDE CHILDREN'S RESEARCH HOSPITAL
Since opening more than 50 years ago, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital has changed the way the world treats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. No family ever pays St. Jude for the care their child receives and, for every child treated here, thousands more have been saved worldwide through St. Jude discoveries. The hospital has played a pivotal role in pushing U.S. pediatric cancer survival rates from 20 to 80 percent overall, and is the first and only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center devoted solely to children. It is also a leader in the research and treatment of blood disorders and infectious diseases in children. St. Jude was founded by the late entertainer Danny Thomas, who believed that no child should die in the dawn of life.
