Back where we belong
What a sight: Some 17,000 runners on the streets of Memphis, including crew members from the Inspiration4 space mission. St. Jude Memphis Marathon Weekend® returned — and just in time for a 20th anniversary celebration.
Wouldn’t miss it for the world
Raj Betapudi knows firsthand what commitment means. He’s one of 35 runners who have participated every year since the St. Jude Memphis Marathon started in 2002. For the past 8 years, he’s trained in honor of a young St. Jude patient. Raj said he saw St. Jude nurses bring their best when the situation was at its worst. To Raj, and many of the long-time runners who joined him, St. Jude represents the best of humanity.

This is why we run
Can you run and cry at the same time? Can your heart break and swell with joy all at once? Yes to both. It happens every year when the course takes runners through the St. Jude campus, where they’re cheered on by the bravest kids ever.
This is why we run
Every T-shirt tells a story
Some ran to honor a child saved by St. Jude. Or a child who passed away. Others ran for current patients. They made up the more than 100 patient family teams that participated, and nobody ran with a greater sense of purpose.

We’re with you in spirit
Lake Superior. Duluth’s historic Aerial Lift Bridge. The St. Jude Memphis Marathon had an Upper Midwest sense of place as members of the TKE fraternity at the University of Minnesota Duluth, unable to come to Memphis because of finals, ran virtually instead, as did thousands of others around the world.

The kids of St. Jude won again
It was a day of races, with times clocked and winners declared. But really, marathon day was a great show of love for the kids of St. Jude — by the 20,015 runners (including 3,343 virtual), from all 50 states and 72 countries, including 6,861 St. Jude Heroes, 1,104 patient family running team members, and 35 runners who have never missed this event. Together, they raised more than $12 million for the cause.
