Kids living with the new normal
In these uncertain times, kids everywhere crave comfort, safety and some semblance of normalcy. It was this idea of normalcy behind the Facebook post of a mother who wanted to show her kids their birthdays were special despite having to cancel celebrations due to quarantine.
In these uncertain times, kids everywhere crave comfort, safety and some semblance of normalcy.
It was this idea of normalcy behind a Facebook post by Mona Helgeland of Norway, a single mother who only wanted to show her kids their birthdays were special despite having to cancel celebrations due to quarantine.
Mona asked her Facebook community to send greeting cards. AP News reported the request grew exponentially and the result was staggering. Mona said she was “blown away by the kindness.”
As birthday cards came in to Mona’s kids from as far away as Alaska and South Africa, she said, “It’s important to stay positive and take care of each other and spread love, not just the virus.”
