Saturday would have marked Jen Pitts' eighth year of running the half marathon in the St. Jude Rock ‘n’ Roll Nashville Marathon, and ninth year overall as a St. Jude Hero. That’s almost a decade, then, of her devotion to the cause overcoming her “love-hate” relationship with lacing up those running shoes.

A meal from someone who understands
Kristen is a cancer mom, whose daughter Kya, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia as an infant. She underwent treatment at St. Jude and passed away in 2011 at 13 months. Kristen and her husband, Pavan, have been helping families affected by cancer ever since.

With the South Beach Triathlon canceled because of the COVID-19 virus, actor friends Parker Young, Bryan Greenberg and Geoff Stults improvised their way to raising money and awareness for the cause with three “Zoom for St. Jude” virtual hangouts with fans and followers.

People making human connections, even in this time of social distancing. As St. Jude founder Danny Thomas said: “Success in life has nothing to do with what you gain in life or accomplish for yourself. It's what you do for others.”
