Putting money to good use
David and Linda Graves believe supporting the lifesaving work of St. Jude is a blessing.
David, a financial professional and Linda, a retired nurse, care deeply about the lifesaving mission of St. Jude. Their tour of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital several years ago with their personal representative helped them understand how their support enables St. Jude to lead the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
“We were so impressed with everything,” David says. “We knew that children were cared for there, but the level of research that St. Jude is doing is fantastic. The work they are doing is such a blessing,” he adds.
Because David and Linda Graves choose to support charities through a donor advised fund (DAF), making an annual grant from their DAF to St. Jude is an easy decision for them each year. The Graves’ make grants from their DAF biannually, in April and at the end of the year, to a few of their favorites charities like St. Jude. “It is very simple and helps us have a more thoughtful approach to our giving,” David said.

Reflecting on his personal philosophy of giving, David said, “It’s fine to save up riches, but that money needs to be put to good use. We are so glad to help St. Jude, and we will continue to do as much as we can, for as long as we can.”
You, too, can build your legacy.
