7 ways your end-of-year donation helps St. Jude kids

The final months of the year seem to be the most hectic amid the joy of the holidays. Crossing off wish lists, hosting gatherings and decorating the house can whip anyone into a frenzy.

But the holiday season is a great time to exercise living charitably.

Let's explore how your donation can help today...

Ways your year-end donation can help the kids at St. Jude

1.

Keeping families together

When you donate to St. Jude, you’re doing more than providing the best pediatric cancer care — you’re giving families the chance to have more time with their children. Siblings have more chances to play together, parents can hold their children longer and kids can continue to make more magical memories.

2.

Providing transportation to get treatment

St. Jude treats children from all over 50 states and around the world. But families never have to worry about how they will afford the trip. St. Jude covers travel costs for patients traveling to our campus in Memphis, Tenn., for treatments and checkups.

3.

Covering the costs of lifesaving care

Treatments for pediatric cancer can last three years or more and cost an average of $425,000. Your donation helps kids get the best medical treatment without their parents worrying about ever receiving a bill from St. Jude.

4.

Providing housing for patient families

St. Jude offers short-term and long-term lodging for patients and families in treatment. Each facility offers a comfortable and soothing space with everything a family needs to feel at home.

5.

Funding research to find more cures

Donations to St. Jude are used to fund research and treatment for pediatric cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Treatments developed at St. Jude have helped push the overall survival rate for childhood cancer from 20% when the hospital opened in 1962 to more than 80% today.  And we won’t stop until no child dies from cancer.

Your donation provides St. Jude families with a daily food credit for use in our cafeteria and a stipend for food purchased outside our cafeteria to ensure good nutrition during the child’s treatment.

7.

Doing good for the world

When we do good, we feel good. But donating to St. Jude is more than a good feeling. Your generosity this holiday season gives children and their parents hope for a brighter future without childhood cancer.
