Why childhood cancer donations are essential

When you donate to childhood cancer research and treatment, not only does this help St. Jude make breakthroughs but it also touches the lives of children and their families.

Donations to St. Jude impact thousands of children each year, and help ensure families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — so they can focus on helping their child live. Consistent with the vision of our founder, Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family's ability to pay.

Only with strong community support can we remain steadfast in our work to find cures for childhood cancer and support families affected by pediatric life-threatening diseases.

Donations support cancer research

Your donation helps St. Jude provide breakthrough research, treatment and cures for life-threatening pediatric illnesses, such as leukemia and brain cancer. Your donation is tax-deductible, and helps us provide children cutting-edge treatments not covered by insurance, at no cost to families.

Why donate to St. Jude?

When St. Jude opened in 1962, childhood cancer was largely considered incurable. Since then, St. Jude has helped push the overall survival rate in the U.S. from 20% to more than 80%, and we won't stop until no child dies from cancer.

Although we accept insurance, St. Jude is a research hospital, so many of the treatment services we provide are not covered by insurance. Unlike other hospitals, a majority of the funding for St. Jude comes from generous donors.

And St. Jude publishes research and clinical trials to turn laboratory discoveries into lifesaving treatments that benefit patients. You donation will help children worldwide.
