Music Room volunteers help patients and families by providing music activities and instrument support in Studio 262.
The Studio 262 music room provides accessible music opportunities and experiences to support patients and families in their treatment journey, emphasizing comfort, normalization, and expression. Volunteers aid the St. Jude team of music therapists with helping patients and families access instruments and resources, facilitating karaoke and providing general help such as keeping the area safe and tidy.
Requirements
Must have knowledge of music and basic music technology, including the ability to read music and proficiency in either guitar or piano.* Must be able to effectively work and communicate well with others; and be able to follow infection control and cleanliness standards. Volunteers must be physically able to stand/remain stationary for long periods of time and be able to lift/move objects up to 25 pounds.
*Volunteers must be willing to demonstrate proof of music ability upon selection.
Available shifts
- Monday: 9:00 am- 12:00 pm and 1:00 - 4:00 pm
- Tuesday: 1:00 - 4:00 pm
- Friday: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm and 1:00- 4:00 pm
