From chili cookouts to bake sales, from silent auctions to Office Olympics, Rust Consulting finds creative ways to unite its team and raise funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. “Our staff have gotten really involved in supporting the kids of St. Jude,” said Jen Mills, program manager of Rust Consulting. “It’s been easy to get behind St. Jude and build relationships and comradery across our organization.”
Rust Consulting recently surpassed $100,000 in employee donations to St. Jude.
“We have a lot of pride for hitting that milestone number,” said David Holland, executive vice president of Rust Consulting. “Our company size has shifted throughout the years, and yet our commitment and level of contribution has maintained. It’s because our employees know and love the work that St. Jude does.”
The St. Jude Walk/Run has become an annual tradition for Rust Consulting employees and their families. “When you can experience the impact of St. Jude, it’s life changing,” said Mills. “Once people attend the St. Jude Walk/Run and see [the families supported by St. Jude], they want to be more involved. Our employees feel really connected to St. Jude.”
Uniting with other supporters of St. Jude from throughout Minnesota bonds the families of Rust Consulting, making them feel part of something bigger than themselves.
“It’s always great when we have a chance to get together outside of work and build relationships,” said Holland. “We get to meet family members and kids. It really strengthens our culture.”
