St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is supported by ALSAC, one of the world’s leading nonprofit charitable organizations. ALSAC exists solely to raise and provide the funds necessary to operate and maintain St. Jude. St. Jude researchers also receive substantial support in terms of external grant funding.

Salary and funding opportunities
Postdoctoral fellows at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital are not required to bring their own funding and are compensated with a competitive salary above the recommended NIH levels. On this salary postdocs are able to enjoy a comfortable lifestyle in Memphis, a vibrant city with a low cost of living.
We encourage postdocs to pursue competitive external funding opportunities as part of their professional development. In addition, several named institutional fellowships are awarded to outstanding postdoctoral fellows completing their training at St. Jude.

- The new St. Jude Child Care Center will be opening in November. Operated by Bright Horizons, it will be located less than one mile from the St. Jude campus, and will provide high-quality child care to nearly 200 children from 6 weeks to 5 years old.
Staff in the Office of Academic Programs in Biomedical Sciences provide dedicated administrative and training support for postdoctoral fellows.

Information regarding housing, schools, banking, child care, and other areas of need is available through our office. While you search for your ideal home, we can provide temporary furnished housing near St. Jude for up to three months at a discounted rate.
