Erica Kaye, MD, St. Jude Department of Oncology and Quality of Life and Palliative Care Division director of research, studies the early integration of palliative care into the ongoing care of children with cancer. Kaye also investigates communication between pediatric oncology clinicians, patients with high-risk cancer and their families at high-stress time points during the illness trajectory; bereavement care for families of children who die from cancer; and delivery of pediatric palliative care in developing countries. 

Aglio is a pediatrician completing fellowship training in pediatric hematology/oncology and hospice and palliative medicine at St. Jude. She is completing a master’s degree in medical education through the University of Cincinnati.

Bien spent more than 10 years as a neonatal intensive care unit nurse prior to transitioning to research.

Calhoun is a pediatric hospice and palliative medicine physician at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital. She also serves as associate program director for the St. Jude-University of Tennessee Health Science Center Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship.

Carter is the nursing lead for the QoLA Kids Palliative Care and Hospice Program.

Mali has a PhD in public administration and more than 20 years of research and university teaching experience in public health.

Mamer has more than 20 years of experience in pediatric cancer and hospice and palliative medicine.

Porter is a pediatrician completing fellowship training in pediatric hospice and palliative medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital. She has a PhD in anthropology and is dedicated to using qualitative research to improve access to palliative care and hospice services for children with serious illness.

Williamson is the former director of the QoLA Kids Palliative Care and Hospice Program.
