Maria Puerto Torres

Maria was born and raised in Colombia where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Foreign Trade from the Universidad del Valle. She worked internationally in foreign trade and financial services. Maria participated in cultural exchange programs in the U.S. before relocating to Byhalia, Mississippi, where she lives with her husband.
Prior to joining St. Jude, Maria was an import coordinator in Cali-Valle for a Colombian company whose biggest area was Christmas decorations, which is her favorite season. Maria has supported the Global Critical Care program since August 2019.
In her role, Maria supports the evidence-based intervention Multicenter PEWS (EVAT) Program, development and delivery of educational curriculum programs for the St. Jude Global Academy, assists in the production of research in pediatric onco-critical care field and other initiatives from the program.
Maria loves collaborating across borders, cultures and disciplines to support St. Jude’s mission.
