Mr. Smith joined St. Jude in 1997 as Administrative Director of Pathology. His background includes many years of administrative experience in the health care industry including financial and operational responsibilities for hospitals and healthcare corporations. He assumed the role as Administrative Director for Scientific Operations in December 2004 and Vice President for Scientific Operations in July 2006. He has direct responsibility for administrative oversight of support areas and shared resources for the Research Departments and the Comprehensive Cancer Center. Under the direction of the Scientific Director and Cancer Center Director, he works closely with program directors, shared resource directors, and departmental directors to help develop and manage operational and fiscal activities.
