Alissa Campbell Shaw, EdD, has a talent for bringing others along with a vision and for executing carefully developed and researched strategies that provide meaningful impact on an organization’s ability to do good. With an extensive background in community giving and a drive to improve people’s lives, Alissa is a transformational leader who demonstrates business agility combined with compassion. She most recently served for eight years as the executive director of the International Paper (IP) Foundation, and senior manager of Global CSR & Community Engagement. In this role, she led IP’s global citizenship efforts by advancing strategies to mobilize the company’s people, products and resources to address critical community needs. At IP, Alissa successfully worked to evolve the company’s culture and approach toward social impact, building global systems to evaluate and measure impact-driven engagement aligned with the company’s business objectives.

Alissa also put her skills and passion to work for five years at the University of Memphis and nine years at ALSAC. She is thrilled to engage again with the mission of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Alissa is personally dedicated to creating a more just and peaceful world through volunteerism. She serves on the Board of Directors for Champions for Literacy (CFL), which uses the power of sports to ensure that every child in America has the ability to read. She serves as a mentor with NEXUS Leaders helping young professionals to reach their life and career goals. She and her family are also involved in AFS Intercultural Programs USA’s year-long high school exchange programs. Together, they have hosted students from France, Hungary and Italy. She is a proud member of the Leadership Memphis Executive Program’s Class of 2020.
