Amaya Kumar is Event Specialist, Event Operations for the department of Global Pediatric Medicine. In this role, Amaya will coordinate workshops, conferences, symposiums, and events to assist with the growing needs of GPM.
Prior to joining GPM, Amaya served as a Student Affairs Coordinator at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Pharmacy, where she assisted student pharmacists in their educational training and coordinated major ceremonies and events such as commencement and orientation for the college. Amaya was recognized for her reliability, quality of work and positive disposition by receiving the 2020 Lichterman Employee of the Year Award.
Amaya double majored in Political Science and Public Relations, receiving her bachelor’s degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she was also a Dwyane Wade and Boy’s and Girl’s Club of America Scholar. Amaya then took her talents to Eastern Michigan University where she graduated with her master’s degree in Educational Leadership.
Growing up in a military family Amaya has lived all over the world and even graduated High School in Germany! In her personal time, Amaya loves to bake and spend time with her Golden Doodle Zeus.
