Hyun Jy Chung, PhD, MS

Hyun Jy Chung is a Biostatistician, Global Analytics for the department of Global Pediatric Medicine. Hyun Jy received her Master’s in Applied Mathematics and Statistics from Stony Brook University, Stony Brook, NY, where she is completing her Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics and Statistics. Hyun Jy’s Ph.D. research is on statistical methods for brain imaging data. She also received a Master’s in Statistics from the Ewha Women’s University, Seoul, Republic of Korea. 

Hyun Jy has a high interest in analyzing clinical data since working as a biostatistician for a pharma company on clinical trials for the development of biosimilars. For this reason, she worked as a research assistant in Stony Brook Medicine preparing statistical analysis plans and carrying out meta-analysis for individual patient-level data for coronary artery bypass grafting (CAPG-IPD). 

In addition to a strong biostatistical methods background, Hyun Jy also has extensive programming experience, adding to the expertise of the Global Analytics core. She has always wanted to work in the clinical field and is excited to start her career at St. Jude.
