Kolanda Ackey is a Research Informatics Analyst I, Information Services for the department of Global Pediatric Medicine. . She has served in many capacities within the healthcare arena for over 20 years.

Recently, Kolanda had spearheaded several data quality and research informatics projects. She assisted with the data analysis for the "Very Few Adolescent and Young Adults with Severe disease Undergo Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation” abstract poster presentation accepted and presented at the 2019 American Society of Pediatric Hematology/ Oncology (ASPHO) conference. Kolanda is the lead author for “Identifying Data Interoperability Barriers for a Multiple Myeloma Database Project” abstract poster presentation accepted and due to be presented at the 2022 Transplantation & Cellular Therapy Meetings of ASCTCT and CIBMTR. She is a co-author/reviewer for a Sickle Cell Disease Pain Pros Observational Study manuscript that has been submitted for publication. Kolanda has also participated on numerous research conference speaker panels and round tables over the years.

Kolanda enjoys networking, spending time with family, writing, listening to music, vacationing, as well as community service projects. She serves on the C.A.R.E. community center advisory board and DeKalb High School of Technology North advisory board on a volunteer basis and is a member of the Healthcare Data and Analytics Association. Whenever possible, Kolanda seeks opportunities for learning and development both professionally and personally.
