1.

Unlike any other hospital, the majority of our funding comes from individual contributions.

It currently costs more than $2 billion to run St. Jude each year, and the cost is estimated to grow to $2.2 billion by 2027. Your donation will help ensure that families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — so they can focus on helping their child live.

2.

Your donation is tax-deductible.

St. Jude is a nonprofit charity operating since 1962 and is exempt from federal income taxes under Section 501(C)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Therefore, your gift is tax-deductible to the full extent provided by law.

3.

Your gift will help families facing their darkest moments.

Only 12% of the money to operate the hospital comes from insurance recoveries. This is vastly different than most other hospitals that can generate more than 90% of their revenues from insurance recoveries and other sources. We also receive some revenue from research grant funding and returns on our investments.

Your donation will have a lasting impact.

The treatments for pediatric cancer can last up to three years or more and cost on average $425,000. No family ever receives a bill for care and no family is asked to pay co-pays or deductibles.

5.

Your gift will help save kids' lives and help drive the research to cure childhood cancer.

We're proud that 82 cents of every dollar received goes to support the treatment, research and future needs of St. Jude. Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to 80% in the U.S., and we won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
