Unlike other hospitals, the majority of funding for St. Jude comes from generous donors.

It costs nearly $2 billion to sustain and grow St. Jude each year, and the cost is estimated to grow to $2.2 billion by 2027. Your donation will help ensure that families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — so they can focus on helping their child live.

Your donation is tax-deductible.

St. Jude is a nonprofit charity, operating since 1962, and is exempt from federal income taxes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Therefore, your gift is tax-deductible to the full extent provided by law.

3.

Your gift will help families facing their darkest moments.

Only 12% of the money to operate St. Jude comes from insurance recoveries. This is vastly different than most other hospitals, which can generate more than 90% of their revenues from insurance recoveries and other sources. We also receive some revenue from research grant funding and returns on our investments.

Your donation will have a lasting impact.

The treatments for pediatric cancer can last up to three years or more and cost on average $425,000. No family ever receives a bill from St. Jude for care, and no family is asked to pay co-pays or deductibles.

Your gift will help save kids' lives and help drive the research to cure childhood cancer.

We’re proud that 82 cents of every dollar received goes to support the current and future needs of St. Jude. We've helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% in 1962 to 80% today. We won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
