On Christmas Day 2015, 5-year-old Muhammad complained of back pain and didn’t want to open presents. His mom, Monique, took him to the emergency room where he was diagnosed with pneumonia. However, a month later, he was still not his usual, happy self.
Muhammad is a smart and loving boy who is fond of animals and likes being outside.
A return trip to the hospital resulted in a CT scan, which revealed a tumor. Tests soon confirmed Muhammad suffered from neuroblastoma. At St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Muhammad will undergo treatment for 12 to 18 months. His treatment will include chemotherapy, antibody therapy, autologous stem cell transplants and radiation therapy.
"I’m so grateful for St. Jude. It’s truly a blessing."
