Jamelia is a very brave little girl. At just four years old, Jamelia wasn’t feeling well at school and noticed blood in her urine. Her worried mother took her to their local doctor.

“I just broke down when the doctor came in and told me she had kidney cancer," her mom said. "Jamelia was so grown up. She got a tissue, wiped my face, told me to stop crying and said, ‘It’s going to be okay.’”

Jamelia was referred to St. Jude and received a treatment plan tailored to her specific needs that included surgery, chemotherapy and proton therapy.
Seeing her daughter battle cancer is hard, but Jamelia’s mom said, “St. Jude makes us feel comfortable and welcome.”
Because of generous donors like you, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food.
