Carl bears such a striking resemblance to his grandfather that everyone calls him “Pops.” This sweet boy is quick to laugh and sparkles with energy.
Pops loves dancing with his older sisters and playing video games like the big kids. When his mom talks about him, she lights up and fills with emotion.
He is my little miracle child.
When he was 3 years old, Pops developed pain in his leg and his belly began to swell. His mom was quick to seek answers and brought him to his local doctors. After running tests, the local doctors came to Pops’ parents with devastating news ... their youngest child had a cancerous tumor above his right kidney.
Families like Carl's will never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food.
Thankfully, his doctors immediately referred him to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital where he received chemotherapy and radiation therapy amongst other state-of-the-art treatments.
He is now cancer free. I’m so thankful for the people who donate to St. Jude. I’m thankful for the donors, the doctors and everyone at St. Jude. They gave me and my child another chance at life.
