More than 150 patients, siblings and their guests enjoyed a throwback to the Jazz Age during the annual Teen Formal at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in April. The theme for this year’s event was the Roaring ‘20s.
Before the big night began, the teens received salon treatment inside the hospital’s Danny Thomas/ALSAC Pavilion. Girls had their hair, make-up and nails done while the boys donned tuxedos. Employees and volunteers lined the red carpet to the event as the teens arrived in limousines.
The Teen Formal is coordinated by the St. Jude Child Life Program and is one of several events that provide patients with a sense of normalcy in their lives while they potentially miss important milestones at home during their treatment for cancer or other life-threatening illnesses.
