In an inspiring and reflective presentation, teenaged patients and their siblings displayed their creativity during the annual St. Jude Teen Art Show.
More than 60 patients and siblings took part in the event, themed “Reach for the Stars.” Patients and Child Life specialists selected the theme. Child Life hosts the annual event.
“With all the challenges our patients endure, the Teen Art Show provides them with an opportunity to showcase a part of them that is not ‘just a cancer patient,’” said Amanda Brody, one of the Child Life specialists who helps coordinate the event. “I am always incredibly proud when they turn in a piece of artwork and share the story about how and why they created it.”
