Communities around the U.S. showed their gold in September during the inaugural St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer, which drew 68,000 supporters of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in 58 cities. The events were held September 19 and September 26 in recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and raised more than $8.06 million for the mission of St. Jude. The Memphis event, held on the St. Jude campus, drew 5,200 participants and was supported by 300 volunteers.
