With the 2016 Summer Olympic Games just weeks away, St. Jude celebrated the spirit of the games a little early to honor the huge role that patients’ siblings play in the hospital experience. The Child Life Program at St. Jude honors these brothers and sisters each year with Sibling Star Day, a day that honors the enormous contributions brothers and sisters make every day in the healing process.
The Olympic-themed day included a variety of activities, games and competitions for the siblings. Families joined the siblings later in the day for dessert to watch sports clips of the Olympics. After dessert, families lined the red carpet outside the Danny Thomas/ALSAC Pavilion as the siblings received their medals.
