St. Jude faculty and staff welcomed more than 100 high school students and teachers from the Memphis area for a day of hands-on learning during the third annual St. Jude Science Scholars of Tomorrow symposium.
The daylong event gives students and educators an exclusive look at science in progress through tours of laboratories clinics and core facilities. Participants also have the opportunity to interact with scientists and clinicians. In addition, students hear case studies from faculty members, listen to staff presentations and attend a career panel.
The program is coordinated through the St. Jude Cancer Center. Suzanne Baker, PhD, Brain Tumor Research Division director and Neurobiology and Brain Tumor Program co-leader, is the program’s faculty sponsor.
