The 57th annual AutoZone Liberty Bowl January 2, 2016, scored big for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as the most-viewed non-New Year’s Day bowl game on ESPN this year. A sold-out crowd of 61,136 saw the University of Arkansas Razorbacks beat the Kansas State University Wildcats 45-23 at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium in Memphis, TN. The partnership between St. Jude and the Liberty Bowl increases awareness of the lifesaving mission of St. Jude by providing international exposure to the hospital. Before the game, the teams toured St. Jude, where they heard the story of a St. Jude patient who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in the midst of his college football career. He beat cancer at St. Jude, returned to play college football and recently entered the National Football League draft.
