Over 50 years ago, Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity (TKE) joined the fight against childhood cancer when Danny Thomas, St. Jude founder and TKE fraternity member (Gamma Nu, University of Toledo), asked his fraternity to help him with his cause.

TKE chapters across the country supported Frater Danny and raised money throughout the 1970s and 1980s.

  2. TKE members presenting a St. Jude donation check.

TKE renewed its partnership with St. Jude in 2008. In 2011, TKE pledged to raise $1 million in five years towards the naming of an MRI Suite inside the Chili’s Care Center on the St. Jude campus. TKE met this goal an entire year early.

  3. Researcher Yao Weiguang working with a machine at the hospital.

In the beginning of 2016, TKE pledged to raise $2.6 million towards the naming of the proton therapy synchrotron/particle accelerator in the Proton Therapy Center at St. Jude. TKE achieved their commitment early in 2019.

  4. Four students cheering at a fundraising event.

In 2019, TKE took their support to a new level, committing to raise $10 million in ten years to name the Bone Marrow Transplantation and Cellular Therapy Research Floor. TKE has raised over $6.5 million towards their commitment.
