It all started 10 years ago when a few students at The University of Memphis decided it was time for their campus to come up with a way for all students to come together to support a great cause.

Eight hours of sleep is what we are supposed to get. But for many folks--especially that raucous group known as college students--eight hours of sleep is a tale of mythology. So in 1998, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital began harnessing that energy.
There was only one year left for Delta Delta Delta Fraternity to make good on its $1 million pledge to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Tri Delta had committed themselves in 2002 to raising the money to endow the Teen Room at St. Jude by 2006.
In Spring 2005, Tri Delta Fraternity and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital will launch the Sincerely Yours letter-writing campaign as part of the group's endeavor to help eliminate childhood cancer.
More than 300 college students made the most of their summer vacation by attending the St. Jude Collegiate Leadership Seminar on June 5-7.
Many teens get an added burden to those sometimes chaotic years; they find out they have cancer. Several years ago, St. Jude created the Teen Room, and the women's fraternity Delta Delta Delta stepped in to endow the room where teens can be teens.
